Person Natalie
|
Person Natalie grew up in a very musically diverse family in Southern California. She started out learning to read music and play the violin at age six. Although she loved the violin, she was always most drawn to the sound of the saxophone. She played in various jazz-related bands at school and she also played gigs professionally with her father’s top 40 band for a number of years. That band also included her Aunt, an outstanding singer, as well as other family friends and studio musicians from the area. Although she sings and plays keyboards, Person Natalie considers her cherished Yamaha alto saxophone her primary voice with which to express herself musically. Like many musicians from various genres, she listens to and appreciates all kinds of music including rock, country, R & B, world music, and jazz. In 2004, a couple of years of jazz studies and lab ensemble at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, really sparked in her a desire to dig deeper into jazz. Some of her favorite jazz musicians she draws the most inspiration from are Coltrane, Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, Miles Davis, Norah Jones, Herbie Hancock and Donald Fagan. She hopes to delve further into writing and producing more jazzfusion and improvisational jazz for her future releases. Person Natalie can be heard on the following tracks and albums on her website as well as on itunes and amazon. Thank-you for listening and please feel free to download or stream anything of interest in order to support her music.
